Recent reports suggest the club are still keen on acquiring the Argentine despite a perfect start to the season. The club, after all, cannot rely on Raphinha to sustain his brilliant form as a number nine, especially given the injury problems he had in recent years. Bringing in Alvarez into this setup, therefore, can Barcelona more edge and help them reduce reliance on star players such as Lamine Yamal and Raphinha. But whether or not a Barcelona move is possible for Alvarez after a change of agents remains to be seen, as the player still has a long-term contract at Atletico Madrid.
