Ibrahimovic still involved despite moving into the background at Milan

Ibrahimovic still involved despite moving into the background at Milan Reports on Tuesday evening claim that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is still involved in the running of Milan, despite recent suggestions that he had taken a step back following a major reshuffle of the senior management team over the summer. Ibrahimovic still involved with Milan despite reports he had stepped back There had been suggestions from Sky Sport, picked up by several other outlets on Tuesday, that Ibrahimovic no longer has a hands-on role with Milan following a re-structuring of the club’s senior management staff. Milan are now under the guidance of CEO Massimo Calvelli, Hendrick Almstadt as director of player trading and Bobby Gardiner as director of football intelligence. Ibrahimovic, meanwhile, has never been directly employed by Milan, not since his playing days at least. He has been serving as an advisor to club owners RedBird and their CEO Gerry Cardinale. However, at certain points, there has been confusion over the exact nature of Ibrahimovic’s role. He had started to become an increasingly present figure at Milanello and has even given interviews, press conferences and introduced new signings at various stages, a job usually reserved for a director or the head coach. His last appearance at the club’s training ground was on September 14 , and that was six months after his previous trip to Milan. There had been suggestions that Ibrahimovic and former head coach Allegri had fallen out. Sky Sport Italia then reported on Tuesday morning that Ibrahimovic’s influence and role in the Milan set-up was decreasing and that he was no longer considered a de-facto managerial figure. However, according to the latest updates from Gianluca Di Marzio and Peppe di Stefano, this is not the case. Ibrahimovic reportedly continues to work closely alongside Cardinale, and the fact that he has not been seen so regularly in the city of Milan does not mean that he is no longer part of the project.
