Liverpool can make transfer U-turn and sign £75m Premier League star
Liverpool can make transfer U-turn and sign £75m Premier League star Liverpool have lost their unbeaten streak in the Premier League. Up until Sunday's clash against Manchester City, the Reds were looking pretty solid. And, even before Ryan Gravenberch got sent off, the clash felt fairly even. However, after the Dutchman made his second yellow card challenge of the game, that's when the game turned on its head. Not only has this further proven why Liverpool still need to sign new players but, it's also shown them that, even though they've spent over £150 million, they're still nowhere near ready to compete for titles again. But, if they manage to sign some players and bolster their ranks, they'll be well on their way back to the top. Chelsea are still willing to move Malo Gusto on In the summer, Liverpool were linked with a whole host of players . Almost every position of the Reds' first-team squad was scrutinised and, while only four players were brought in, each of them have helped improve Andoni Iraola's ranks in one way or another. However, as with every club, there are always ways to improve things which is why a shortlist of a fair few targets needs to be kept at all times. Of course, initial enquiries may end up being rebuffed but, if Liverpool keep tabs on their targets, there could be opportunities to revisit deals. And now, as per a fresh update from Sacha Tavolieri, that could be exactly what's about to happen. "Chelsea could revise their financial demands for Malo Gusto. While the Blues valued their right-back at around £75 million during the last summer transfer window," they wrote . "The London club has since hinted that the Frenchman is not untouchable. Should an offer be made that reflects his market value, the door would not be closed. "A departure would only be considered if an opportunity arose to join a club he considers superior in terms of sporting performance and to take a significant step forward in his career. "Otherwise, he would prioritize staying at Chelsea. The situation will therefore depend as much on the position of the London club's management as on the sporting prospects offered to the player. "Chelsea are open to listening to offers, but Gusto has no intention of leaving at any cost. However, if he doesn't find the role he wants at the Blues, the question of his future could resurface. This is a developing story." Malo Gusto would be a good signing for the right price Last season, Liverpool's right-back was one of their main problems. Trent Alexander-Arnold was moved on and, even though Jeremie Frimpong was signed to replace him , he ended up spending more time on the sidelines than he did playing. This led to Ronald Araujo being signed but, since he's going to be 28 years old by the end of the current season, it's unclear whether Liverpool will want to splash the £47 million to bring him in permanently. So, the fact that Gusto, who Liverpool were interested in signing this summer , could still be sold by Chelsea is rather interesting. Obviously, the £75 million they wanted for him was extortionate but, if Xabi Alonso still wants to get rid of the Frenchman, they'll definitely knock the price down. Gusto already has a tonne of Premier League experience and, because he's only 23 years old, he still has a lot of his career ahead of him and could very easily become an even better player than he already is. Here's hoping that Liverpool figure out who they want to sign soon.
