Liverpool Loan Watch: An Eventful Outing For Ndukwe, EFL Loanees Struggle Once Again
Liverpool Loan Watch: An Eventful Outing For Ndukwe, EFL Loanees Struggle Once Again Liverpool , hit hard by injuries during the international window, suffered a 3-0 defeat to Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday afternoon. They controlled the game until Ryan Gravenberch was controversially sent off, after which the visitors scored back-to-back goals. The Reds’ lack of squad depth remains a concern; however, many of their youngsters are still on loan for regular minutes before they can stake a claim in Andoni Iraola’s plans. Liverpool FC Loan Watch Lucca Brughmans ( GK – Genk) A comfortable outing for the teenage custodian, who was hardly threatened in their commanding 3-0 win against ten-man Kortrijk. The clean sheet should boost his confidence ahead of the weekend’s Cup tie with Virton. Djylian N’Guessan ( FW – Brest) Was brought in as a late substitute in their thumping 5-1 win against Angers. Had a major opportunity to find the net in the dying minutes after being set up from close range by Noah Edjouma. Anthony Lopes made a sharp foot-save to deny the attacking prospect. Ifeanyi Ndukwe ( CB – Levante) An error on his first full debut earned Sevilla an early lead. But the young centre-back overcame the initial setback and showed great mentality and composure before scoring a dramatic 100th-minute equaliser to salvage a 3–3 draw for Levante. Ármin Pécsi (GK – TSV Hartberg) Although Hartberg snatched a narrow win over Austria Lustenau, the Hungarian struggled between the sticks, conceding three goals from just 1.68 xGOT. He must step up his game against league leaders Rapid Wien, with the Blue-Whites set to travel to Vienna for their next Bundesliga encounter. Calum Scanlon (LB – Cardiff City) Joel Bagan remains the preferred left-back, with Scanlon brought on as a late substitute in Cardiff City’s 2-1 defeat to Blackburn Rovers. (Photo by Clive Brunskill/Getty Images) Kieran Morrison (LM – Sheffield Wednesday) The youngster failed to make an impact despite getting the nod over Davis Keillor-Dunn. Neither did he threaten Matthew Young in Huddersfield’s goal, nor were his crosses accurate enough from the flank. Keillor-Dunn, who replaced him at half-time, offered more directness up top in their 2-2 draw. Kyle Kelly (CM – Forest Green Rovers) Missed their clashes with Sutton United and Wealdstone for international duties, but the Saint Kitts and Nevis international returned to action last weekend in their 4-2 home defeat to Hartlepool United. Was tasked to switch play and progress the ball from the centre of the pitch, but he struggled to deal with the visitors’ direct play and physicality. Was taken off around the hour mark with Forest Green trailing 3-0. Kornel Miściur ( GK – Leek Town) Started in goal in their successive wins against Hyde United and Worcester City. Made key contributions, including tipping a header onto the crossbar early on and a majestic point-blank save late in the game to deny Hyde a late equaliser. Pulled off some close-range saves against Worcester to secure a clean sheet, but missed their recent encounters with Warrington Rylands and Ashton United due to an injury. Fabian Mrrozek ( GK – FC Cincinnati 2) Has been rotated in goal for FC Cincinnati reserves in the MLS Next Pro – Eastern Conference. Returned to action this weekend after a few erroneous outings, but the Polish prospect had another disappointing day, conceding two late goals in their 1-2 setback. Calvin Ramsay ( RB – St Mirren) An evening to forget for the Scotsman, with St Mirren suffering a 5-0 defeat against Hearts. The right-back forced Beau Reus to make a save but struggled at the back against Josh McPake and Claudio Braga. Harvey Elliott ( AM – Valencia) Worked on his fitness during the break, and was once again deployed as a second-half substitute in their 2-2 draw with Racing Santander. Could not make any notable contribution while on the pitch. Centre-half Amara Nallo, young forward Keyrol Figueroa and custodian Fabian Mrrozek were not involved for HJK, Port Vale, and FC Cincinnati 2, respectively.
