Liverpool have signed their very own Yan Diomande in £85m-rated forward There has been a lot of transfer speculation concerning Yan Diomande and Liverpool in recent months. The 19-year-old winger left Leganes for RB Leipzig last summer - joining the Bundesliga side on a five-year contract for only €20m. The Ivorian’s progress has been startling - scoring 12 goals and making nine assists in his maiden German top-flight season and catapulting himself to the forefront of the wishlist of several major sides. Liverpool’s interest is reported to be long-standing but they have since been joined by Bayern Munich and European champions Paris Saint-Germain. With a deal extending to 2030 and a valuation topping out at €100m there are no guarantees that Diomande will be making a move this summer. The Red Bull-owned outfit would like to keep hold of the emerging African superstar for at least another season and even have plans to tie him down to a new contract. That could leave Liverpool frustrated in their search for a new winger. But happily for the Reds the club have ALREADY signed their own version of Diomande. That’s according to a new report in the Liverpool Echo - which is claiming that club insiders will surely value Rio Ngumoha in a similar way as Diomande following his breakout season. Ngumoha is Liverpool's Diomande Ngumoha, already a full England international, was reported last week to have agreed a deal with Bayern Munich. Under contract only until 2028 Liverpool are quite vulnerable to bids for the former Chelsea youth and will be ticking down the days until they can sign him to a longer deal after his 18th birthday. “According to the initial reports last week, Ngumoha had been made aware of Bayern Munich's interest but it's unclear how that was communicated,” the report reads. “However, some at Liverpool were somewhat bemused by the developments and, as of last week, the club had received no call from Bayern about their interest in Ngumoha. “Liverpool won't encourage that either, because they are delighted with the huge progress he has made in his two years at the club and view him as an important part of a new era under Andoni Iraola. “In a season where Yan Diomande's progress at RB Leipzig has, ironically, led to Liverpool interest and talk of fees upwards of £85m, the Reds would likely view Ngumoha, two years younger than 19-year-old Diomande, in similar terms. “But no price tag is being placed on Ngumoha, even privately, because Liverpool aren't looking to sell. He is less than a year into his first professional contract with the Reds.”
