England to take on Ukraine at Wembley The home leg of England’s FIFA Women’s World Cup Brazil 2027 qualification round two play-off tie against Ukraine will be played at Wembley. WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official media update from The Football Association this afternoon. The tie will take place at the national stadium on Saturday 5 December 2026 (kick-off 5.30pm). England will travel to a neutral venue to contest the first leg in the week leading up to the Wembley showdown. The Lionesses qualified for the round two play-off by defeating Greece 8-1 on aggregate in the first round. England won the first leg 3-1 in Crete before running out 5-0 winners in the second leg in Leicester last night. Speaking following this afternoon’s announcement, England head coach Sarina Wiegman said “We know what the opportunity is and we are looking forward to the challenge ahead. After a successful window just gone, we now have some time and our focus is on being fully prepared against a team that did well in their own play-off. We have played Ukraine recently and know the qualities they have and the threat they can pose. “First, we need to approach the first leg in the best possible way but to play at Wembley Stadium in front of our fans for a place at the World Cup is a big moment. The stadium is special to us and we have shared many memorable moments there with our supporters. We know how much their backing means to the team and the role they can play in helping us achieve our objective.” Tickets for the home leg will be available exclusively to England+ members from Friday 16 October 2026. Any remaining tickets will go on general sale from Thursday 22 October 2026.
