Villarreal star fires back at Jose Mourinho over comments against referee: ‘Don’t know what they’re complaining about’ While Real Madrid are gearing up for today’s big clash against AS Roma in the Champions League, there is still much discussion over their last win against Villarreal. The game saw the referee make a few controversial decisions, including Vinicius Jr’s receiving a red card and his goal being disallowed as well. On Tuesday, during his pre-match press conference before facing AS Roma, Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho came out all guns blazing at the referee for the decisions made in the game. But now a Villarreal player has hit back at those criticisms. Comesana’s response to Mourinho Speaking after Villarreal’s win over Napoli, Santi Comesana was in no mood to let it slide. I don’t know what they’re complaining about with the referee and all that. If it’s a red card, it’s a red card ,” he said (h/t AS ). (Photo by Denis Doyle/Getty Images) What’s done is done, as far as Real Madrid are concerned, and the team would be better served to focus on tonight’s game against AS Roma. It will be a tricky test against a team that knows Mourinho quite well, as the Portuguese tactician had managed the team not too long ago. Mourinho has already identified four players who need to be at the top of their game tonight, including Thibaut Courtois and Aurelien Tchouameni, to combat Roma’s press. Having secured a narrow win over Inter Milan in the first match, another win in Rome could go a long way in instilling confidence at Real Madrid as they brace themselves for a tricky round of fixtures.
