Major Twist: Liverpool identify deal for Lamine Camara alternative

Major Twist: Liverpool identify deal for Lamine Camara alternative Lamine Camara has been one of the main players that Liverpool have been linked with over the year or so. Every single fan knows that the Reds need a new midfielder or two with the Anfield outfit's recruitment team even knowing this themselves. This has been proven by the fact that Liverpool made an enquiry for Marc Bernal in the summer . However, for one reason or another, things just haven't worked out for Liverpool and a new midfielder with other positions being prioritised instead. And, although some of those additions such as Jeremy Jacquet and Ronald Araujo have been worthwhile, some have left many unanswered questions. But, ahead of the January transfer window, the rumour mill has been going into overdrive with Liverpool now getting linked with yet another player. Manu Kone is an alternative midfielder for Liverpool to explore As mentioned, over the last year or so, Camara has been at the top of Liverpool's shortlist . In fact, it was even shared that, at the end of the summer transfer window, the Reds told AS Monaco and Camara to wait until January for them to make a move. Fortunately, the Ligue 1 outfit did this which resulted in them pulling out of their agreed deal with Chelsea. However, as the season has gone on, the Senegal international has become even better than he already was which has upped Monaco's demands. And, the higher that valuation goes, the less likely the move is to work out. So, the fact that Ben Jacobs has now shared that the Reds have another midfielder on their mind other than Camara and Alex Scott is hardly surprising . "Bournemouth have opened the door to selling Alex Scott in January following talks over the last few days, as Nizaar Kinsella called," he shared via X. "Mid-season exit not guaranteed. But if the right offer arrives, understood to be £100m+, and Premier League safety is looking likely, then a sale is not discounted. "Chelsea made multiple bids for Scott over the summer, as exclusively revealed on talkSPORT. They retain an interest. "Liverpool also well-positioned if they choose to move." Manu Kone would be an impressive addition for Liverpool At the moment, it's unclear what business Liverpool are going to do in January. The club have been linked with several different players over the last few weeks and, since the winter window is still months away, many different options are likely to emerge. And, while having several different deals to explore is a good idea, they don't want to make themselves spoiled for choice and end up overspending or not signing the right player. Manu Kone was linked with Liverpool in the summer but, thanks to his importance to AS Roma, a deal never came to fruition. And, now that he's played seven games across all competitions for the Serie A outfit, Liverpool's interest has been piqued again. Of course, it would probably cost the Anfield outfit a pretty penny to bring the 25-year-old in but, since he's now likely to be a cheaper option than Camara, signing the Frenchman could be a solid idea for the Reds.
