Leiston relishing shot at FA Cup first round return

The Suffolk club, of the Southern League Premier Division Central, welcome Guiseley, of the Northern Premier League Premier Division, in Saturday's fourth qualifying round fixture at Victory Road. It is the seventh time Leiston have reached this stage, but only once - in the 2008-09 season - have they progressed to the first round. "Clearly it's our biggest game of the season so far," Crisp told BBC Radio Suffolk. "It should be a great occasion for the club." The Blues have beaten Grays Athletic, Hitchin Town and Coventry United to reach this stage, while Guiseley have progressed thanks to victories over Hebburn Town, Stockton Town and Bradford Park Avenue. The winners of Saturday's tie will earn £9,375 and the opportunity to be drawn against sides including 2021 FA Cup winners Leicester City in the next round. Crisp said if Leiston could return to the first round it would make a "huge difference" to the club. "For a small club such as us financially it's a huge opportunity to put some security behind the club for a good period of time," he added. "That's further down the line, we're not looking too far ahead. It's about getting the job done on Saturday first."
