Barcelona continue to shatter records with another in sight heading into Real Betis clash

Barcelona continue to shatter records with another in sight heading into Real Betis clash FC Barcelona’s outstanding start to the 2026/27 season has seen Hansi Flick’s side break records left, right and centre . Their goalscoring numbers have been particularly remarkable, with 43 goals in their opening 10 matches. Now, another milestone has emerged in the Champions League.  Barcelona have played 28 matches in the competition under Flick, scoring 84 goals at an average of three per game. This is the highest goals-per-game rate of any team to have played at least 20 matches in the Champions League since the current format was introduced in the 1992/93 season.  Barcelona closing in on a historic La Liga record Another record could fall on Saturday, this time involving consecutive wins at the start of a La Liga campaign.  Flick’s Barcelona are unstoppable. If they beat Real Betis at Estadio de La Cartuja on Saturday, they will equal Real Madrid’s long-standing record.  The prospect of another milestone adds to the momentum surrounding Flick’s side, who have combined a perfect start across their opening 10 competitive matches with remarkable attacking output.  Lamine Yamal continues to make his mark Lamine Yamal is also continuing to rewrite the record books individually. The Barcelona winger has drawn level with Raphinha on 13 Champions League assists since making his debut in the competition in September 2023.  Scaling new heights. With Barcelona continuing to score freely and Lamine contributing at an increasing rate, the Catalans show no signs of slowing down their record-breaking start, as they set their sights on another milestone this weekend.
