Luis Enrique rates Warren Zaïre-Emery as ‘an undisputed starter, a key player’ for PSG
Luis Enrique rates Warren Zaïre-Emery as ‘an undisputed starter, a key player’ for PSG He may not be the most spectacular of Paris Saint-Germain’s players, but Warren Zaïre-Emery (20) remains nonetheless one of the club’s most reliable assets. Starting in place of João Neves (22) at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday, the Frenchman once again delivered a top-class performance in Les Rouge et Bleu midfield. This was, of course, not lost on his manager, Luis Enrique, who, on the eve of PSG’s trip to Strasbourg, was full of praise for his young protégé. “He’s an undisputed first-team regular, a key player,” the Catalan manager stated. “The problem is that I can only field eleven players in every match. I have to make choices. Warren has been a regular starter ever since we arrived.” Having made 161 appearances (124 as a starter) under Enrique since the latter took charge of the Parisian side in July 2023, Zaïre-Emery has established himself as one of the key players in the Parisian club’s squad. And this is despite his manager’s decision – for which the latter had, incidentally, apologised – not to start him against Arsenal in the last Champions League final. GFFN | Léo Aschi
