Endrick could revive his Real Madrid career during Vinicius’ suspension
Endrick could revive his Real Madrid career during Vinicius’ suspension Endrick could have a chance to revise his Real Madrid career following Vinicius Junior’s suspension. Vinicius is set to miss the next four La Liga games for violent conduct and his subsequent protests against the referee during last weekend’s 1-0 victory over Villarreal. Endrick could be the biggest beneficiary of the absence of international teammate. He replaced Vinicius during Wednesday’s 4-3 comeback victory at Roma in the UEFA Champions League . Endrick scored Madrid’s third goal, registering his second goal involvement in as many matches this season. The 20-year-old posed a greater threat and offered more defensively than Vinicius. He made three recoveries, one more than his fellow Brazilian, despite playing fewer minutes. Endrick has endured a difficult start to the season due to injuries. He has played just 35 minutes across all competitions. The same can be said of his overall spell with the Spanish giants since joining the club in 2024. His loan spell at Lyon during the second half of last season further illustrates his struggles for regular opportunities at Madrid. Endrick could now be allowed to make up for lost time with Vinicius’ suspension. Jose Mourinho rates Endrick highly and refused to let him leave Madrid last summer, despite interest from several clubs. The Palmeiras academy graduate gives Mourinho’s side a different attacking dimension with his penalty box movement and quick shooting. He does not get involved in the build-up as much as Vinicius, potentially giving Madrid a different attacking balance alongside Kylian Mbappe and Yan Diomande. Arda Guler is another option to replace Vinicius, but he does not offer the same attacking threat as Endrick. Guler is best played behind a striker, where he can create chances and make late runs into the penalty box. Endrick will be hoping to get more game time in the coming weeks and gain Mourinho’s trust.
