PSG have announced their travelling party for the game against Strasbourg later today. It’s the usual crew heading off to Alsace, with just one notable absence. Captain Marquinhos is out, as manager Luis Enrique has decided to rest the central defender. It’s all part of the ongoing rotation strategy which the Parisians use to keep their team as fresh as possible for the latter part of the season. Last week Ousmane Dembele and Nuno Mendes were left at home following the international break. That meant they were fresh and ready to take on Man City in midweek. This time it’s Marquinhos’s turn. Strasbourg are a better side than Le Mans, and the Meinau is a more difficult place to play. But the team are still confident to play without their rock at the back. The Ukraine international needs to up his game after a shaky debut season, and today’s game gives him a good chance to do that with Marquinhos out. Lucas Hernandez playing centrally is another option. In other news… Maghnes Akliouche probably won’t get the start today – but that doesn’t mean his manager isn’t delighted with his progress. Ousmane Dembele joked that he needed more holidays after the midweek win against Man City – and his manager has now responded.
