CSD weighs action against Javier Tebas following controversial Real Madrid comparison

CSD weighs action against Javier Tebas following controversial Real Madrid comparison Real Madrid are already facing quite a challenging sporting scenario as they find themselves six points behind FC Barcelona after the first eight matchdays of the new La Liga campaign. The losses to Real Betis and Atletico Madrid have taken a heavy toll on the team’s morale, while the Merengues have also shown several weaknesses in their style of play. Meanwhile, Los Blancos are also engaged in several battles off the pitch. The most prominent of these currently is the one against some top Spanish football authorities, including La Liga, RFEF, and the refereeing committee . The La Liga president Javier Tebas has been one of the most vocal protagonists in these battles, as he constantly attacks Real Madrid for one reason or another. However, one of his recent statements took a particularly ugly form as he compared Real Madrid TV to the propaganda machinery used by the Nazis. Naturally, the Merengues published a harsh public statement protesting these actions from Tebas, and asked for his removal from any meaningful position in Spanish football. Following these developments, the situation seems to be getting more difficult for the La Liga president.. This is clear from a report from MARCA , which cites EFE to claim that the Spanish National Sport Council (CSD) is considering taking action on its own initiative following the statements made by Tebas, who is also the vice-president of the RFEF in addition to the La Liga president. There is no doubt that these latest statements from Tebas, on which he later doubled down following the emergence of the news of CSD considering action against him, were of a very serious nature, especially coming from someone in as high a position of authority in Spanish football as he is. Hopefully, CSD will go ahead with this consideration, and the La Liga president will face the appropriate consequences based on the investigation’s findings.
