😒 Liverpool suffer potential hammer blow in Szoboszlai's return Liverpool's struggles on the home front across the 2026/27 Premier League campaign may have suffered another hammer blow this afternoon after talismanic midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai came off injured at Brentford. The Hungarian maestro, who has been so vital for the Reds since arriving from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2023, was seen sitting on the turf before being assessed, but walked off the Gtech pitch under his own power. Carrying a niggling hamstring problem across recent weeks, it may come as no surprise that the 25-year-old Székesfehérvár-born star has re-aggravated it after featuring prominently for Hungary during the recent extended international break. Szoboszlai was instrumental for Marco Rossi's Magyarok , featuring in all four Nations League fixtures between 25 September and 5 October. Replaced by English youngster Trey Nyoni just after the half-hour mark, any prolonged absence would be detrimental to Andoni Iraola's efforts in pushing Liverpool back into the fight for the Champions League places. A 44th-minute goal from Brentford's Keane Lewis-Potter did not help matters, either.
