Three-horse race now underway for 83-goal Liverpool star
Three-horse race now underway for 83-goal Liverpool star Liverpool have been linked with many different players over the last few months. And, as much as they need new players, without moving some of their current crop on, they're unlikely to have enough money to sign all the players that they need. This is why many different players such as Virgil van Dijk, Cody Gakpo and even Florian Wirtz have all been linked with an exit in the near future. Of course, moving all of these players at once would be a massive mistake for Liverpool but, seeing one or two of Andoni Iraola's men get shown the exit door makes a lot of sense. That is, especially if they're wanting to get back to the top of the Premier League table. Federico Chiesa is now wanted by Inter Milan, Lazio and Atalanta Federico Chiesa is a player that shouldn't still really be at Liverpool. Initially, the Italy international was brought in as Mohamed Salah 's back-up but, now, he's just a forgotten player. Of course, the sheer number of injuries that he suffered during his first season at Anfield didn't help matters much but, during his second, he was fit for most of the campaign. However, it seems like the bridges were already burned between Arne Slot and the Italian as, he barely featured once again. And now, during his third campaign, he's suffered a lot of injuries and, even though Cody Gakpo and Alexander Isak were both out of action , Lewis Koumas was still chosen to start over Chiesa. Not only does this prove that his time at Liverpool should be over but, it also leads nicely onto the recent update from TuttoMercatoWeb who share that three Serie A clubs now want to sign him. "A return to Serie A is now one of the main options for January," they wrote. "Inter, Lazio, and Atalanta are the three clubs most interested. The Nerazzurri could accelerate their move, especially if Luis Henrique were to leave, while the Bergamo option would be complicated by Chiesa's difficult past relationship with Cristiano Giuntoli. "For Lazio, the main obstacle would be financial. Chiesa earns a salary of more than €6 million per season at Liverpool , a figure that's difficult to reconcile with the current balance of the Biancocelesti's finances. "Much will therefore depend on the conditions under which Liverpool will eventually accept the departure of the 1997-born player, while the idea of seeing Chiesa back in Italy as early as the second half of the season is starting to gain traction." Federico Chiesa's time with Liverpool is coming to an end There has already been multiple chances for Iraola to give Chiesa a chance to prove his worth . In fact, these last couple of games when Gakpo and Isak and both been out would have been perfect. Obviously, things change and and decisions need to be made but, if Chiesa isn't being given a chance to play against LASK, then there's something wrong. As much as the Italy international may want to stick around and fight for his place, it's clear that he isn't going to get that chance. This obviously means that a deal needs to be agreed in January and, with all three of these Serie A clubs wanting him, Chiesa's exit has never felt closer.
