Qatar score third-latest equaliser in World Cup group stage history 🤯

Qatar score third-latest equaliser in World Cup group stage history 🤯 If you're a neutral fan, you would have loved what Qatar (ranked 56th) pulled off on Saturday.  It looked as though Julen Lopetegui's team would be walking away with zero points in their 2026 FIFA World Cup opener, but that was until they finally found their touch. And in the 94th minute! Boualem Khoukhi was on high alert in the box and leapt highest to send a darting header beyond goalkeeper Gregor Kobel and the Swiss (ranked 19th) at the death.  In doing so, the centre-back scored the third-latest group stage equaliser in World Cup history! Did we mention Qatar had only four attempts compared to Switzerland's 26? That's the most the Europeans have registered in a World Cup game on record (since 1966) and still they dropped points. Group B is now wide open, with Canada, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Qatar and Switzerland now all on one point. Qatar joined Canada in registering their first ever World Cup point with Saturday's result.
