RB Leipzig star sends warning to his side ahead of Real Madrid clash: ‘We need to analyze’

RB Leipzig star sends warning to his side ahead of Real Madrid clash: ‘We need to analyze’ Real Madrid are set to take on Sevilla tonight at the Santiago Bernabeu, and they have some difficult games coming ahead for which they will need momentum on their side. The clash against Barcelona next weekend, by far, is Real Madrid’s biggest upcoming game. Ahead of that, however, they also have a clash midweek against RB Leipzig in the UEFA Champions League. Despite being in the European circuit regularly, the start to the new season has not been great for the Bundesliga side as they have lost three of their six domestic games and won the other three. In Europe, meanwhile, they have won once and suffered one defeat, thus currently sitting in 21st place. Leipzig player previews Real Madrid clash Real Madrid are far from their best. Just at the weekend, the German side suffered a humiliating 6-1 defeat at the hands of Bayern Munich, who are on a great run of form, and enter the clash against Real Madrid clearly shaken. Speaking to the media ahead of the game, Leipzig midfielder Rocco Reitz opened up on how the team must wake up and improve significantly if they are to stand a chance against Jose Mourinho’s side midweek. “I hope we can leave this defeat behind soon and get it out of our minds. We need to analyze the game correctly,” he began (h/t Defensa Central ). “In the Champions League we will face a team of similar quality and we want to show a completely different fighting mentality on the field,” he added, referring to the upcoming game against Real Madrid. In all aspects of the game, we were far below expectations. You can’t afford to play like that against a team of this quality.” Finally, Reitz spoke out on how they left many spaces at the back against Bayern Munich – something they cannot afford to repeat against a Real Madrid side comprising Kylian Mbappe, Yan Diomande, Jude Bellingham and a rested Vinicius Jr. “From the beginning of the game, we did not close enough spaces for the opponent in defense and we paid a very high price for it.”
