🎥 Pitch completely flooded! Referee still considers kicking off This has to be satire. Or so you might think when you watch the following clip from Spain’s fourth division. A match there was called off last weekend due to severe flooding in the region. But that didn’t stop the referee from first checking whether it really was impossible to kick off. The official even got his feet wet in the process. Of course, we don’t know whether he considered letting the game go ahead despite the pitch clearly being unplayable. But with him refereeing, the players should apparently at least make sure they’ve earned their beginner’s swimming badge. You never know. Next time, the ball might bounce a little and they’ll find themselves in a water battle. This article was translated into English by Artificial Intelligence.
