Savage praises Posh attitude in Burton fightback
Peterborough United boss Robbie Savage has praised his side's attitude after they fought back to earn a point against Burton Albion. Posh fell 2-1 behind in the 89th minute against the Brewers, but Matt Garbett's goal deep in added time ensured they did not come away empty handed in Savage's first home league game in charge. The fixture came after a week where Peterborough owner Darragh MacAnthony denied claims by Forest Green Rovers owner Dale Vince that the club made an illegal approach for Savage. "It is going to be a rollercoaster, so keep those seatbelts fastened." Savage told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire. The draw with Burton meant a continuation of Peterborough's unbeaten start under the former Welsh international, following an EFL Trophy win over Ipswich U21s and an impressive League One victory at Leicester City. Asked what had pleased him most about his start at the club, Savage said: "The way they [the players] have embraced me, the way they've embraced the style of football and their work ethic. "I wouldn't be coming in here trying to play a brand of football if the players couldn't do it. "They were a possession based side previously. That's the way the old manager wanted to do it. I think we can press, we can get after teams. We want to play high, we want to get in the final third quickly." Peterborough's four points from their past two games has lifted them to 19th in the third-tier, but they face arguably their toughest test so far with Tuesday's trip to high-flying Huddersfield Town. "At times we are going to need the crowd, there are going to be moments when we have to suffer. Right now, we're doing well, we will continue to do well." Savage added.
