Andoni Iraola given perfect update about Liverpool sensation
Andoni Iraola given perfect update about Liverpool sensation Liverpool were fairly busy in the summer. They brought four new players in and, while many more additions could have been made, they only ended up with four new faces among their ranks. Obviously, this came as a bit of a shock to most Liverpool fans as, after they finished fifth in the Premier League last term, most of them thought that a full-on rebuild would be taking place. Indeed, some areas of their squad such as their defence were completely changed but, there are still some major problem areas. This has been shown by the lack of form that some of their first-team squad have been in but, fortunately for them, things may be about to start looking up. That is, especially after what one of the Reds' most important players has just said. Rio Ngumoha has shared that his contract talks are going well Over the last couple of years, Liverpool have lost a lot of their players through free agency. The biggest-named players to have exited are Trent Alexander-Arnold and Ibrahima Konate with both of them choosing to join Real Madrid. Mohamed Salah is another player who left for free but, since his exit was a mutual termination of his contract, that doesn't really count. Curtis Jones was looking likely to be the next to leave but, fortunately, Inter Milan made a decent enough bid which allowed the Reds to earn some sort of money back. A lot of the Reds' players have their contracts expiring over the next couple of years which means that many different negotiations will have to take place. But now, thanks to what Rio Ngumoha said to Lewis Steele, it kind of feels like Liverpool's fanbase may not have to worry about losing the wonderkid for nothing. "It's all with my agent now. I think it is all going well. I am not too sure," Ngumoha said to Steele . "I just let the football do the talking, I enjoy playing and all of that is in the back of my mind. I just play for play for Liverpool and hopefully I can carry on doing well." Rio Ngumoha's future looks like it'll be with Liverpool Although Ngumoha may not be a guaranteed starter yet, the fact that he's in Iraola's rotation of attackers at just 18 years old is impressive. Before the Spaniard took over from Arne Slot, the Englishman could only really play on the left-wing but, since the Reds no longer have a natural right-winger, he's been forced to learn a new position. At times, it's been unclear if all the extra work has been worth it but, recently, the former Chelsea man admitted that he doesn't have a preferred wing anymore . Obviously, this is good news as it means that he has a lot more weapons at his disposal which, in general, will make him a better player. At the moment, his ceiling is so high that it's unclear how good he could become so, if Liverpool didn't manage to agree a new deal for him before his contract runs out in 2028, some serious questions would need to be asked. Because, as much as the Reds can probably continue taking hits by allowing players to leave for free, losing a player of Ngumoha's quality would be gut-wrenching for the club, and their fans.
