ÖFB-Frauen Bundesliga results: Sturm Graz seize top spot, Pölten fall to Austria Wien and LASK dominate Linz derby The tenth week of results in the ÖFB-Frauen Bundesliga saw a reshuffle of the league table. SK Sturm Graz flew back up to first place after their win over fouth-placed Altach. Meanwhile, across the country, FK Austria Wien powered through the previously unbeaten SKN St. Pölten to send themselves second in the league. Südburgenland remain at the bottom of the table as they had no answer for the visiting Red Bull Salzburg. Meanwhile, Blau-Weiß Linz continue to lament at the foot of the table as they succumbed to LASK in the Linz derby. SCR Altach vs SK Sturm Graz It was a routine win for Tode Djakovic’s side. SK Sturm Graz earned an important three points against fourth-placed Altach at the Schnabelholz Stadium. It was a must-win game for Graz if they intended to remain part of the title conversation. The big three of Pölten, Austria Wien and Graz are all looking to create a gap at the top for themselves to battle it out. SCR Altach are having a resurgent period after a difficult start. Their consistency as of late has seen them comfortably look ‘the best of the rest’ outside of the big three. Talisman forward Laura Krumböck got Graz off to a strong start after a fantastically timed cross from Hungary legend Lilla Sipos. Krumböck met the cross at near the post to tap it home for the opening goal. Graz saw the game out and in the dying minutes. Altach’s Swiss defender Flavia Lüscher caught an unlucky deflection to send the ball into her own net past teammate Stella Busse to make it 0-2. Altach remain in fourth, equal on points with Red Bull Salzburg but with a game in hand. SK Sturm Graz now sit top of the ÖFB-Frauen Bundesliga with 23 points. However, both Austria Wien and Pölten have a game-in-hand. OEFB Frauen Bundesliga, 10. Runde, SC Rheindort Altach Frauen – SK Sturm Graz Frauen, Stadion Schnabelholz Altach, 18.10.2026 SKN St. Pölten vs FK Austria Wien Pölten’s reign as the only unbeaten team in the ÖFB-Frauen Bundesliga came to an end. Champions FK Austria Wien looked a class apart as they saw out the game 0-3 away from home. This was a fixture that had been billed by many as a potential outlier of who may win the title this season. Austria Wien fans will undoubtedly be more than happy with the showing from their side. It was a physical and tense fixture that saw referee Biljana Iskin hand out no less than ten yellow cards. Austria Wien found their breakthrough in the fourth minute through the ever consistent Patricia Pfanner. This came after 17-year-old Valentina Pötzl successfully took on three Pölten defenders to set up her teammate. Modesta Uka added a second for Wien from range, as is now becoming a trademark for the Kosovan forward. Pölten goalkeeper Carina Schlüter miskicked a longball into the feet of Carina Wenninger. The Austria Wien captain then immediately passed to Uka, who finished from range beyond the hands of Schlüter. The final goal of the game was contentious. Austrian international defender Louise Schöffel fired what could’ve been a shot or a cross towards goal. The effort found its way into the Pölten net after a couple of deflections, bringing us to the final score of 0-3. Austria Wien now rise to second in the ÖFB-Frauen Bundesliga with a game in-hand on leaders SK Sturm Graz, as the Vienna based side chase their second league title. SKN St. Pölten drop from first to third, although they also have a game in-hand over Graz. All three teams will be keeping one eye on their opposition as the season heats up and heads towards the league table split. The top four sides after the league splits will battle for the three European competition positions whilst the bottom half will face-off to see who falls to the ÖFB-Frauen Bundesliga 2. SK Rapid vs First Vienna FC 1894 It was, as the cliché goes, a game of two halves in Hütteldorf as SK Rapid hosted First Vienna in a derby of sorts which ended in a closely contested 1-1 draw. Rapid dominated across the field during the first half of the fixture, grabbing a goal through Ilvy Taucher in the 21st minute. First Vienna’s interim manager Peter Ganster admitted: “We were lucky not have have conceded more goals in that first half.” After the 45, First Vienna emerged a different team, constantly pressing the Rapid defence through bursting runs from Croatian star Karla Kurkutović and Lara Höcherl. Eventually, First Vienna found their equaliser through captain Claudia Wasser just before the 60th minute. Both sides can be equally disappointed and thankful that the game ended in a draw. With the share of points First Vienna continue their rehabilitation. This comes after the departure of short lived manager Denny Krcmarek who was relieved of duties a quarter of the way into his first season, they sit seventh, behind LASK. Katja Gürtler’s SK Rapid are now eighth with a game in-hand, just behind First Vienna in the table. A respectable sitting for a newly promoted side. IMAGE: OCTOBER 17/2026. They eased past SpG Südburgenland in a comfortable 0-3 showing at Thermenstadion. Salzburg’s Bosnian international Aldina Hamzić got the first goal of the game as she converted a corner from Sophia Schirmbrand. Red Bull piled on the pressure towards the Südburgenland goal, finding a second goal through Alessia Pamminger. The 18-year-old, despite her young age, has become a key player for Salzburg so far this season, donning the number 10 for the club she debuted for last season. The final goal of the game arrived in the second half from Lena Triendl, who joined Salzburg this season from champions Austria Wien. Triendl pounced on the ball after a Salzburg corner, firing the ball past Südburgenland goalkeeper Dora Schvirjan. Südburgenland remain second-from-bottom in the ÖFB-Frauen Bundesliga, one precarious point ahead of Linz. Meanwhile, Red Bull stay a respectable fifth place. LASK vs FC Blau-Weiß Linz/Kleinmünchen In what is usually a tense derby match for the two main teams in Linz, LASK left with the three points. The game saw two penalties awarded to LASK, one scored by Evelina Kos, one missed by youngster Dayna Tuppinger. Blau-Weiß Linz unfortunately for them had no answer for LASK’s team. The LASK side consisted of a healthy mixture of young upcoming talents and seasoned senior internationals. Leonie Schmidle got LASK underway but the credit should go to Jaanika Volkov. She took a free-kick from the left side, which found its way into goal from a deflection from Schmidle. LASK’s third goal came from exciting Austrian talent Ella Herbst . In the last seconds of the game, the young Austrian took a speculative shot from distance. The ball found its way into the back of the Blau-Weiß net beyond goalkeeper Julia Forstner. Things are looking poor for Blau-Weiß Linz as they stay at the foot of the table. Manager Jasmin Pistotnik will have plenty of work ahead of her if she is to keep this side in the top flight of Austrian football beyond the 2026/27 season. LASK remain in 6th position after the tenth round of fixtures.
