Sports Administration Tribunal could disqualify Tebas over controversial remarks towards Real Madrid La Liga president Javier Tebas could face disciplinary consequences following his comments comparing Real Madrid TV’s methods with the propaganda techniques used by Nazi Germany under Joseph Goebbels, according to La Sexta (h/t Mundo Deportivo ). The controversy has escalated after Real Madrid demanded Tebas’ immediate resignation, prompting the possibility of proceedings that could ultimately lead to him being disqualified from his position.  CSD legal department to decide on possible action According to La Sexta , the next step rests with the legal department of Spain’s Higher Sports Council (CSD). It must decide whether to refer the matter to the Sports Administrative Tribunal (TAD), which would then determine whether disqualification is warranted.  Tebas in hot waters following controversial remarks. In a long tirade on his social media, Tebas hit out at Real Madrid and the club’s official media channel RMTV, amid their continued criticism of the refereeing system in La Liga. “The management of Real Madrid directs an orchestra of spokespersons, and Real Madrid TV leads the way. The score is always the same: select the incidents that suit their interests, repeat the grievance, fuel suspicion and identify the enemies,” he wrote . Continuing, he added: “This method recalls propaganda techniques exploited by Goebbels, the propaganda minister of Nazi Germany: systematic repetition, the creation of an enemy and the subordination of facts to a narrative. “The comparison is with those propaganda techniques, not with an ideology and, of course, not with Real Madrid supporters.” Real Madrid call for Tebas’ resignation. (Photo courtesy: Real Madrid official website) Real Madrid issued a statement calling for Tebas to resign following his remarks, calling his statements ‘absolutely intolerable and extremely serious’. “These statements constitute yet another episode in Javier Tebas’s repeated attacks against Real Madrid, its president, and its media outlets,” the statement further added. The latest dispute adds to the longstanding tension between the club and the La Liga president. Real Madrid and Tebas have been at odds since shortly after his appointment in 2013.  If disciplinary proceedings ultimately result in Tebas being disqualified, it would partially fulfil Real Madrid’s objective of removing him from his position.
