Liverpool given green light to bring £75m star to Anfield soon Andoni Iraola may have lost Liverpool's unbeaten streak in the Premier League a couple of weeks ago but, that doesn't mean that they can stop trying. Now that most of the Premier League's fixtures from game week seven are done, the Reds have more of an idea about where they're sitting in the table. At the moment, they're fifth in the league and, while this may seem good from an outside perspective, the fact that they've only bagged nine goals across their entire Premier League campaign so far is worrying. By comparison, all four teams ahead of them in the table have score many more goals. This lack of form has led to many different transfer rumours being shared and now, the Anfield outfit have seemingly been given the green light to get one deal over the line. Felix Nmecha would happily return to England amid Liverpool's interest Liverpool's midfield is still their main problem area . The Anfield outfit only have four options among their ranks to choose from as their defensive midfielders and, while some of their performances have been solid, they've mostly left a lot to be desired. Trey Nyoni and Alexis Mac Allister have been their two best central midfielders thus far which, after giving Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch bumper new deals, is rather worrying. Even though some players such as Szoboszlai performed really well last term, they've failed to meet expectations this time around which has caused others such as Adam Wharton, Lamine Camara and Alex Scott to all be linked . However, as per a fresh update from Caught Offside, Borussia Dortmund's Felix Nmecha could be the player they end up targeting instead, that is, especially since he's now open to making a return to England. "That player is Borussia Dortmund’s Felix Nmecha, who was also linked with Liverpool and other Premier League clubs during the summer," they wrote . "And as I reported back in January, Nmecha ended up signing a new contract with Dortmund. This, however, has not put off Liverpool, who are keeping a close eye on the Germany international in case they can’t get a deal done for Scott. "Nmecha would be cheaper and looks like good value in an inflated market. Recruitment staff inside Anfield see him as an underrated gem who could immediately make an impact in Andoni Iraola’s side. "Nmecha is understood to be open to coming back to English football after spending 12 years in Manchester City’s academy between 2007 and 2019. Felix Nmecha would help solve a lot of Liverpool's problems Nmecha, who has previously been linked with Liverpool , is a signing that, on paper, makes a lot of sense. Not only can the German international play as a number six but, he's also been used as a number eight and a number 10 frequently throughout his career. Every time he's featured for Dortmund, he's often been one of their stand-out players with his partnership with Jobe Bellingham often a sight to behold. To make things even sweeter, Nmecha is also only 26 years old so, even though the £75 million may seem like a lot, his Champions League experience coupled with the fact that he's likely to only get better make it feel like a good deal. Last season, he contributed to eight goals across all competitions and, since he was with Manchester City's academy for so long as a youngster, he's even classed as homegrown. Here's hoping that, if a deal is agreed that Nmecha wants to make the move and can actually make a difference at Anfield.
