Barcelona midfield ace reaches 100 appearances for club against PSG

Barcelona midfield ace reaches 100 appearances for club against PSG Dani Olmo reached a major milestone in his FC Barcelona career today, as he is set to make his 100th official appearance for the club in their UEFA Champions League clash against Luis Enrique’s Paris Saint-Germain. The attacking midfielder has been named in the starting XI for the match by manager Hansi Flick, reaching the landmark in his third season since returning to the Catalan club.  Olmo becomes the latest Barcelona player to join the club’s centurions, following Gerard Martin, who reached the same milestone against Getafe just days earlier.  Olmo’s 100 Appearances Having left Barcelona during his youth career to join Dinamo Zagreb, Olmo returned to his boyhood club in the summer of 2024, after being signed from RB Leipzig. Now, he has gone on to achieve a key milestone in his senior career with the Blaugrana , making his 100th appearance for the team.  100 appearances for Barcelona. He has featured in all three of Barcelona’s Champions League matches this season.  His record across competitions stands at: La Liga: 67 appearances, 18 goals; Champions League: 21 appearances, three goals; Copa del Rey: Eight appearances; Spanish Super Cup: Three appearances  Olmo’s versatility has helped him earn Flick’s trust even though he is not always a regular starter for the Catalans and has had to battle with Fermin Lopez for a place. He has played in central midfield, as an attacking midfielder, and even as a centre-forward, adapting to the team’s needs in different situations, proving his worth and value. A memorable journey so far Olmo’s journey to 100 Barcelona appearances began on 27 August 2024 at Estadio Vallecas. Making his debut as a substitute against Rayo Vallecano, he scored the winning goal in a 2-1 victory during the third round of La Liga.  A major milestone for Olmo. In the following campaign, despite playing more matches, he scored eight times: seven goals in La Liga and one in Europe.  He has scored once so far this season, producing a spectacular finish against Real Betis this past weekend, in the process ending a seven-month drought. So far, Olmo has won two La Liga titles, one Copa del Rey, and two Spanish Super Cups with the club, and will be hoping to add more to his cabinet in the years to come.
