‘These three points will help us’: PSV head coach Peter Bosz happy with Champions League victory over Porto PSV got their Champions League campaign up and running with an important victory away to Porto. Guus Til scored the only goal of the game as the Dutch champions came away from Portugal with all three points and their first win in the Champions League this season. After a defeat last week to RB Leipzig, PSV were desperate to grab a first win in the competition. The victory against Porto now means that PSV have four poitns from three games to start the Champions League, a decent return considering two of their opening three games have been away from home. Speaking to ESPN after the game, head coach Peter Bosz was happy with the result. He said ‘I do think these three points will help us. We took a wrong turn for a moment, but I think we have found our way again’ . Given that the side lost this past weekend to ADO Den Haag, there may have been some concerns that they were not ready for a pretty important Champions League clash with Porto. However, they defended well and Bosz was impressed with the performance of Sven Mijnans. The head coach said ‘I am very curious to see how much he ran. He played very well between the lines, drawing Jan Bednarek away every time and always being available to receive the ball ‘. Next up for PSV in the Champions League is a clash with Belgian champions Club Brugge at home. Before that, however, they have a big Eredivisie game against Feyenoord to contend with. The Rotterdam club have had a blistering start to the domestic campaign and look set to be the biggest rivals PSV have in their bid to regain their title this season. GBeNeFN  |  Ben Jackson
