Tottenham Hotspur Are Set To Rival Aston Villa For This Premier League Striker: Good Option For De Zerbi? In a recent report , journalist Ekren Konur claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are set to rival Aston Villa for Brentford striker Igor Thiago. It is understood that Spurs are eyeing a move to bring the Brazilian talent to North London next year. Thiago’s Impressive Form In North London Thiago has enjoyed a good run of form at Brentford in this campaign so far as he has put in a few impressive displays for them in the final third. The Brazilian forward has banged in two goals and grabbed one assist in nine matches for the Bees this season in various competitions. The 25-year-old is currently among the most talented strikers in the Premier League . Hence, it is no surprise that Spurs are in the running to land him next year. His current contract at the Gtech Community Stadium will run out in the summer of 2031, which could make it difficult for Tottenham to land him on a cut-price deal this January or at the end of this campaign. Thiago is proficient at finding a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has the vision to engineer the odd chance for his teammates to find the back of the net and is also quite clever with his movements in and around the opponent’s penalty area. The Brazilian sensation has proven himself to be a decent performer in the Premier League. Therefore, Spurs would do well to get a deal done for him in 2027. We can expect Thiago to enhance the quality of Tottenham head coach Roberto De Zerbi’s frontline. He has what it takes to challenge for a regular starting spot at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the coming years. At 25, Thiago has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a great option for the North London club to pursue in this winter transfer period or at the end of this season. He will also help Spurs get back to challenging for a European spot in the Premier League over the next few years. All in all, De Zerbi would be wise to go all out to snap Thiago up soon.
