‘Of course’ Vinicius agent explains he was tempted by Arsenal Michael Yormark says Arsenal were “very aggressive” in their pursuit, and has now explained how seriously the Real Madrid winger viewed the approach. Puglia/Getty Images Vinícius Júnior seriously considered joining Arsenal in the summer after the Premier League champions made an aggressive attempt to sign him, according to his representative. Michael Yormark , president of Roc Nation Sports International , the agency representing the winger, says Arsenal made Vinícius feel sufficiently wanted for the Real Madrid star to listen to what they were offering. Speaking in an interview with SportsBoom , via Metro , Yormark said Arsenal’s interest was significant. “You saw the news; Arsenal was very involved. They were very aggressive,” he said. Asked directly whether Vinícius had given serious thought to joining Arsenal, Yormark said: “Did he ever seriously consider Arsenal? I mean, of course. “When a team like Arsenal rolls out the red carpet for you and makes you feel really wanted, then obviously you have to listen.” Photo by Angel Martinez/Getty Images His representatives have not, however, suggested that a transfer was ever close to actually happening. “Vini’s heart is in Madrid, that’s where he’s always wanted to be, and that’s where he is, and that’s where he hopes to be for the rest of his career,” he added. Grant Veitch , another senior figure at Roc Nation, explained that Vinícius’s established position at Real Madrid ultimately outweighed the opportunities available elsewhere. The winger was already comfortable at the club, has established himself as one of their star players and wanted to build on what he had achieved by winning more trophies in Madrid. The uncertainty all ended in August when he signed a new contract running until June 2032, ending Arsenal’s attempt to bring him to north London. Photo by Angel Martinez/Getty Images
