Michael Carrick update as Man United make decision ahead of Bournemouth clash

Manchester United have signalled that Michael Carrick will remain in charge for Sunday’s game against Bournemouth in the Premier League. The club have confirmed they will hold a pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon in an indication Carrick will not be sacked following Wednesday’s 4-1 thrashing by Como . Captain Bruno Fernandes criticised Carrick’s tactics – and in particular the way the team was not told to press – in Como, a week after defender Lisandro Martinez launched an attack on sporting director Jason Wilcox . Carrick said United’s performance in Como was “not acceptable” and that he was “angry” after it. After Bournemouth, United face Chelsea, Roma and Aston Villa before the international break.
