Real Madrid starlet closes in on guaranteed starting role at Real Madrid – report

Real Madrid starlet closes in on guaranteed starting role at Real Madrid – report Real Madrid have played their two best games of the season against Sevilla last weekend and RB Leipzig in the Champions League. Jose Mourinho appears to have fixed some of the weaknesses that were apparent in the team, and one of the solutions has been using Arda Guler in a deeper midfield role. Now, according to MARCA (h/t Madrid Zone ), the 21-year-old Turkey international is on the verge of establishing himself as an undisputed starter for Los Blancos . His recent performances have made it increasingly difficult for Jose Mourinho to leave him out, especially in the big games. His growing influence comes at an important moment, with El Clasico against Barcelona approaching. Guler’s performances are changing Mourinho’s plans Guler has been one of Real Madrid’s most influential creative players in recent matches, helping the team find solutions to its midfield problems. His impact was particularly noticeable against AS Roma in the Champions League, when his introduction helped Real Madrid overturn a two-goal deficit. He subsequently impressed against Sevilla, operating deeper in midfield as Mourinho moved Federico Valverde to right-back. That adjustment gave Real Madrid greater control in possession while allowing Guler to influence attacks from central areas. The 21-year-old prodigy also scored during Real Madrid’s 4-1 Champions League victory over RB Leipzig, converting from close range after Kylian Mbappe set it on a plate for him. Arda Guler could become central to Real Madrid’s midfield plans For Real Madrid, Guler’s emergence offers a solution to an important tactical problem. Arda Guler will face an important El Clasico test. (Photo by Angel Martinez/Getty Images) Mourinho has experimented with different midfield combinations this season, searching for the right balance between defensive security and creativity. Guler provides something that Real Madrid’s more physical midfielders cannot always offer: the ability to spot passing opportunities early and accelerate attacks through tight spaces. With Jude Bellingham, Bernardo Silva and other established players competing for places, Mourinho must decide how to accommodate Real Madrid’s creative players without sacrificing the defensive structure. Sunday’s Clasico will be one of Guler’s biggest tests to date. Against a midfield as proficient as Barcelona’s, it will not be easy for the Turkish youngster to get control of the ball. If the 21-year-old can put in another impressive performance against Barça, it would strengthen his reputation further, and it remains to be seen how he fares on Sunday.
