Liverpool's plans for Harvey Elliott are now obvious
Liverpool's plans for Harvey Elliott are now obvious is currently on loan to Valencia. The Liverpool midfielder is trying to reignite his career once again after a failed loan spell to Aston Villa last season. At the start, things didn't really go to plan for the Englishman as he turned up to the Mestalla Stadium overweight and far from where he needed to be. Since then, things have started to turn around and now, Valencia manager, Javier Aguirre has confirmed that he's been "delighted" with the progress that Elliott has shown . For Elliott, this loan deal is likely to just be a stepping stone towards his next club but, for Valencia, this deal needs to have an impact as he's now one of their highest-paid players. Rumours have already been shared about what the future has in store for the Englishman with Liverpool's stance on him now becoming clear. Nacho Sanchis' latest update confirms Harvey Elliott could become a part of Andoni Iraola's Liverpool plans Elliott has always been seen as a star boy at Liverpool. He was one of Jurgen Klopp 's favourite players and, whenever he spoke about him, you could tell that he saw the youngster like a son. But, since the German's departure, Elliott hasn't been so lucky with his playing time which is why these loan deals have come to fruition over the last couple of years. Obviously, last years was a write off so, this could genuinely be his last chance at saving his career. And, as per a fresh update from Spanish journalist Nacho Sanchis, if all goes well, it feels like Elliott could end up making his way back into Iraola's plans. "All parties have sat down with Harvey Elliott : Valencia CF and Liverpool, and they've asked him to step up," he wrote . "To run more, be pragmatic with the ball, and keep training as he has been doing so far. The player is very open to it. "It's logical - the VCF can't afford such a high salary without him playing, and Liverpool an asset they paid 15M for without playing. Now it depends on him." Harvey Elliott is likely to make a return to Liverpool Since Elliott is being asked to run more and become more pragmatic, it feels like Liverpool are gearing him up for a role within Iraola's squad. The Englishman may not have been able to impress the Spaniard during pre-season but, if he gets himself into a purple patch of form and starts contributing goals and assists to the La Liga outfit, he could get back onto Iraola's radar. And, since Iraola's system requires an awful lot of running, having him spend a season working on his cardio and covering lots of ground for Valencia makes a lot of sense. Rumours have also been flying around about the future of Florian Wirtz so, if he ended up exiting, a replacement would be needed and, since Elliott is still only 23 years old, he could easily plug that gap for Liverpool. Obviously, these are all just ideas at the moment so nothing is confirmed but, right now, it definitely feels like the Reds believe that Elliott could become an important part of their squad in the future.
