Liverpool cannot afford to miss out on €60m midfield maestro
Liverpool cannot afford to miss out on €60m midfield maestro Liverpool's midfield is definitely one of their main problems at the moment. Ryan Gravenberch is suspended, Dominik Szoboszlai is injured and, since Trey Nyoni is still only 19 years old , he can't really play two 90 minute matches every week. Their lack of depth has been a major concern for fans since 2023 when their last natural number six, Fabinho, exited Anfield. From that point on, many players have tried to plug the gap but unfortunately, none have stuck. So, now, three years later, now that the perfect signing has emerged, he's simply someone Liverpool can't let go. AS Roma would consider a bid of more than €60m for Manu Kone After Liverpool finished fifth in the Premier League last term, fans all thought that a new midfielder or two would be welcomed through the Anfield doors. However, that was far from the case with Andoni Iraola and Richard Hughes failing to bring a single one in. This failure doesn't mean that the Reds weren't trying to sign one as, many options such as Manu Kone, Adam Wharton, Lamine Camara and Alex Scott all emerged as potential transfers . And, while most fans think that Camara is going to be the Reds' main target in January, thanks to an update from TuttoMercatoWeb, that may not end up being the case with a price tag for another one of their targets now emerging. "Roma are also considering their midfield for the future," they wrote . "Koné remains in the sights of Liverpool and Chelsea. A strong offer, higher than the €60 offered by Xabi Alonso's club, could arrive at the end of the season." Manu Kone is perfect for Liverpool Over the summer, many different midfielders emerged as options for Liverpool. However, as mentioned, none of those deals worked out. Of the lot, Kone was probably one of the most well recieved options with his performances for AS Roma seeming to excite fans. Not only is he a natural number six but, unlike some of Liverpool's current players, he can actually win a duel or two. Indeed, the fact that it would mean another none-homegrown player would become a part of Liverpool's first-team squad is a bit of a problem as, at the moment, they have no spare spaces among their ranks. This would then result in even more of Liverpool's players being shipped out which, in reality, is not what they need.
