Liverpool Competing With Arsenal For This Talented Playmaker: One For The Future? In a recent report , journalist Graeme Bailey stated that Liverpool are keeping tabs on Galatasaray playmaker Aleksey Batrakov. It is believed that the Reds would have to compete with Arsenal in the race to land the Russian talent next year. Batrakov’s Impressive Form In Turkish Football Batrakov is having a decent campaign at the Turkish club as he has put in a few impressive displays for them in the final third. The 21-year-old has found the back of the net three times and secured three assists in 14 matches for Galatasaray this season across all fronts. The Russian sensation is currently one of the most gifted young playmakers in the Turkish Super Lig. Hence, it is no wonder that the Reds are monitoring his progress ahead of a potential move for him next year. His current contract at the Turkish club will run out in the summer of 2031, which could make it tough for Liverpool to sign him on the cheap this January or at the end of this campaign. (Photo by Burak Kara/Getty Images) Liverpool Are Keeping Tabs On Batrakov: Is He A Prospect For The Future? Batrakov can shoot the ball with power from long range and has the vision to engineer some decent chances for his teammates to score. He is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can chip in by scoring and creating a few important goals for his side. The Russian talent is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also serve as a box-to-box midfielder or as a right-sided wide player if told to do so. However, there are some question marks on whether he can cope with the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League if the Reds manage to sign him in 2027. We can expect Batrakov to add more quality and depth to Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola’s frontline in the long run. He is already good enough to challenge for a regular first-team spot at Anfield. At 21, the future looks quite promising for Batrakov as long as he continues to improve with each year. He is undoubtedly a prospect to watch out for in the long term, so Iraola would be wise to step up his efforts to recruit him.
