Allegri accusation: ‘They put Champions League in Roma’s pocket, I paid for it at Milan’ Max Allegri was reportedly heard angrily shouting after Napoli’s 3-3 draw that ‘they put the Champions League in Roma’s pocket last season, and I paid for it at Milan.’ The coach was visibly furious both during the match at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, where he was sent off from the touchline for dissent in added time, and in the press room. He was very irritable when speaking to DAZN Italia and confessed he was “in no condition right now, for the first time after 25 years, to give you any clear answers on the match. So I’m sorry, but I have to wish you a good night.” Allegri lost temper after Napoli 3-3 Roma NAPLES, ITALY – OCTOBER 24: Massimiliano Allegri, SSC Napoli head coach, reacts to his expulsion during the Serie A match between SSC Napoli and AS Roma at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on October 24, 2026 in Naples, Italy. Considering Allegri is friends with Roma coach Gian Piero Gasperini and they had a warm hug before kick-off this evening, it remains to be seen if there will be a response to this veiled accusation.
