😡 Neymar speaks out on red card, vents fury and swears at Nestor Neymar took to social media overnight between Saturday (24) and Sunday (25) to speak out about his sending-off in Santos’ 1–1 draw with Bahia. The Santos star apologized to the fans, admitted he had "f...ed up," vented about Rodrigo Nestor’s "dirty tactics" and insulted the Bahia midfielder. "If it’s a rule created to combat racism, how can he do things like that? It’s surreal," Neymar said in a series of Instagram stories. The "Vini Jr Rule" was created to punish potential cases of racism. Under it, players who cover their mouths while allegedly hurling insults will be sent off. "Nestor, at least I’ll go to sleep with a clear conscience. You, with your dirty tactics, won’t. Because that rule is about racism, not something for you to exploit," Neymar added. Neymar had already clashed with Rodrigo Nestor in the first half and was sent off after the break. Despite being down to 10 men, Santos fought back to equalize. Full outburst 👇 "What Nestor did to me today is very serious. Serious because this is a rule created to combat racism. He tried to gain an advantage in the game because I put my hand over my mouth, and I didn’t even say anything to him. Obviously, we were insulting each other, trading jabs out there, and that’s fine. It’s part of football." "But what he did is very serious. I was in midfield, we were joking around and arguing, I was joking with the two center-backs, and he used that to gain an advantage in the game. If it’s a rule created to combat racism, how can he do things like that? It’s surreal." "I’m very upset about what happened because he played really dirty. Really dirty, honestly. I saw an interview where he said I insulted him, that he couldn’t repeat it because children were watching. Man, he faked it. I played the ball into his waist, and he put his hand to his face. And what kind of example does he want to set?" "I had the chance to do that, but I’m a man. I f...ed up, right? I gave an idiot the chance to get attention, but that’s fine. Now, Nestor, at least I’ll go to sleep with a clear conscience. You, with your dirty tactics, won’t. Because that rule is about racism, not something for you to exploit."
