Thuram dedicates Inter goal to Lautaro, hopes French compatriot wins Ballon d’Or Inter star Marcus Thuram dedicates his goal against Fiorentina to Lautaro Martinez and hopes a Frenchman wins the Ballon d’Or: ‘We have many talented players.’ Thuram was the Man of the Match in Inter’s 2-1 win over Fiorentina on Sunday. The Fenchman scored a late equaliser in the 90th minute, then won a penalty kick that Piotr Zielinski converted. Every time we step onto the field, we know the game will be long,” Thuram told DAZN at full-time. The Frenchman imitated Inter captain Lautaro Martinez’s goal celebration, who is currently sidelined with an injury. “Yes, normally, he’s the one scoring in the 90th minute,” Thuram said smiling. As already mentioned, Thuram scored one goal and won a penalty kick, but he had appealed for another spot kick in the second half, just minutes after Alex Jimenez’s opener. In the previous round, Thuram had been booked for diving during an away game at Bologna. Errors can happen. I must keep challenging opponents, make things happen inside the box, and in the end they’ll give a penalty, as happened today.” Thuram’s compatriot Mbappé is among the favourites to win the Ballon d’Or tomorrow. “I hope a Frenchman wins it,” Thuram concluded. “Kylian, Dembélé, Olise. We have many talented players who could win it, and I hope a Frenchman does.” MILAN, ITALY – OCTOBER 25: Piotr Zielinski of FC Internazionale Milano celebrates scoring his team’s second goal during the Serie A match between FC Internazionale and ACF Fiorentina at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on October 25, 2026 in Milan, Italy. We are happy, and we must keep it up,” said the Poland international. We don’t think about criticism; we try to give our all. If you look at the results, they are excellent. Except for the game against Brugge, we’ve always played well; we don’t care about criticism.
