PSG enter race for highly-rated Real Madrid youth target with Barcelona also keen – report Manchester United youngster JJ Gabriel has been in the headlines in recent weeks as he looks to secure a move away from the English club. Gabriel has been pushing for an exit for a while now , with Barcelona and Real Madrid emerging as the frontrunners for his signature. Now, according to Diario SPORT , Los Blancos face growing competition in their pursuit of the 16-year-old, with PSG joining the race. The French club have opened discussions with the 16-year-old’s representatives, while Real Madrid are also intensifying their contacts with the player’s entourage. PSG emerge as serious competition for Real Madrid Gabriel recently turned 16 and is regarded as one of the most promising young talents in English football. The French champions are hoping to convince Gabriel with an attractive sporting project and a financial package that could prove difficult for their competitors to match. The youngster is said to be interested in the Catalan club’s playing philosophy. They also have a reputation for trusting and developing young players, another factor that could influence the teenager. While that may be his preference, it does not guarantee a move to the Camp Nou over the Santiago Bernabeu or the Parc des Princes. Madrid must present a convincing development plan The financial aspect could become particularly important as competition for Gabriel increases. Barcelona are unwilling to enter an expensive bidding war for a player who has yet to make his official Manchester United first-team debut. Gabriel also holds an EU passport through his Irish ancestry, potentially helping to facilitate a move to Spain at 16. Real Madrid need to find a way to convince JJ Gabriel to join them. For Madrid, the challenge goes beyond competing financially with PSG. Gabriel is seeking a clear pathway towards senior football. Luis Enrique also has a good track record of giving youngsters minutes, especially in Ligue 1, where PSG tend to rotate quite often. Real Madrid have the resources and reputation to attract elite young prospects, but they also need to offer a clear pathway. With Barcelona offering an established youth-development model and PSG prepared to compete financially, Madrid cannot depend on prestige alone. It remains to be seen what the future holds for JJ Gabriel and where he plays his football in the upcoming seasons.
