Mbappe sends strong message after scoring 100th Real Madrid goal against Barcelona: ‘The stars of the match are the team’ Kylian Mbappe reached a major milestone in his Real Madrid career by scoring his 100th goal for the club during a 2-1 victory over Barcelona in the first El Clasico of the 2026/27 season.  The French striker scored twice at Camp Nou, helping Jose Mourinho’s side secure three crucial points in the La Liga title race while extending their winning run to five matches since the international break. Despite his personal achievement, Mbappe insisted the result was a collective triumph, praising the squad’s mentality and warning that Real Madrid must maintain their intensity if they are to challenge for trophies this season. Mbappe celebrates 100 Real Madrid goals after Barcelona brace Mbappe was the standout performer in El Clasico, delivering the goals that helped Real Madrid overcome their arch-rivals.  Speaking to Real Madrid TV after the match, the Frenchman emphasised the importance of the team’s overall performance rather than his individual contribution. “It’s a team victory. The stars of the match are the team and the squad, because we knew we had to put in a manly performance, but also play as a team. “We’ve prepared well in recent matches because we’ve been winning and playing well. We came into this with the right mindset and today we gave it our all. Kylian Mbappe scored his 100th goal for Real Madrid. Ultimately, winning and still being in the race for La Liga is very important for us, but we must keep going. “We know it’s a big match, but it’s worth three points, and we need to pick up plenty more to win La Liga.” The milestone of 100 goals for Real Madrid was another landmark in Mbappe’s career, but he played down its significance compared with the victory. “I’m very happy. Everyone knows I like scoring goals and helping the team that way. But I think today that’s just a minor detail, because the most important thing is the team’s victory and our success as a group. “This win will give the squad a lot of confidence and there’ll be plenty more goals to come, so it’s not that important.” Real Madrid must continue to succeed as a team Mbappe also stressed that Real Madrid’s ambitions depend on collective strength, arguing that the squad possesses the quality required to compete for major honours if the players work together. “If we want to achieve anything this year, we have to do it as a group and as a team because the quality is here. When you look at the players we have here, anyone who says there’s no quality is a liar. Mbappe was crucial in Real Madrid’s El Clasico win. Real Madrid have to win matches, and that’s what we’re doing right now. We have to keep going because five matches mean nothing to us. “We want to win every single match we play. Today sends out a positive message, but we mustn’t think the season is over because nothing is over yet. “First of all, we need to rest, and next week in Santander we have to show the same intensity and win another match. ¡Hala Madrid! Greetings to all the Madridistas,” he concluded.
