Paris Saint-Germain are about to ruin Liverpool's transfer plans

Paris Saint-Germain are about to ruin Liverpool's transfer plans Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain have been fairly intertwined with one another over the last couple of years. The two teams have met in the Champions League knockout stages twice in a row with the Parisian's coming out on top each time. And then this summer, they were both pulled into a long and drawn out negotiation for Bradley Barcola which Liverpool eventually won. There's no signs that the relationship between the two clubs is strained but, after this latest update, that could all be about to change. Paris Saint-Germain want Gilberto Mora now that Kvicha Kvaratskhelia is out injured One of the main things that forced negotiations for Barcola's deal to drag on was the fact that Luis Enrique wanted to sign his replacement before he sold the Frenchman. Because, even though Barcola wasn't one of Enrique's main starters, he still played an important role in their plans. In the end, everything worked out with PSG managing to add Ferran Torres and Mika Godts to their squad. Each player has had a decent go at proving their worth but now, after it was confirmed that Kvicha Kvaratskhelia will be out for the rest of the 2026-27 season thanks to an ACL tear, they're an attacker down. Most clubs in this situation would deal with it and make-do but, PSG aren't like most clubs with the two-time Champions League winners now throwing their hat into the ring for the transfer of long-term Liverpool target, Gilberto Mora . "Following Khvicha Kvaratskhelia's ACL injury, PSG have stepped up their search for attacking reinforcements," Ekrem Konur wrote . "Gilberto Mora is among the players being considered by the French champions. "Liverpool are also said to have made a €40 million offer, with PSG expected to enter the race in January." Liverpool cannot let Gilberto Mora slip through their grasp One thing that Liverpool have become really good at recently is signing youngsters for the future. Many different talented players have been linked with an Anfield switch with some even having their moves confirmed. And, since Andoni Iraola is now at the helm , a lot of the Reds' youngsters are being given more frequent chances. So, the fact that they've recently been linked with a move for Mora makes a lot of sense. He set the 2026 World Cup alight and, this season, he's already contributed to five goals in seven games. The fact that he's only 18 years old means that, by the time he needs to be registered by Liverpool, he'll be classed as homegrown which is massive. Here's hoping that the Reds don't slow down their chase and manage to sign the Mexican wonderkid this summer.
