Confirmed: Barcelona’s Pau Cubarsi finishes 12th in 2026 Ballon d’Or rankings The 2026 Ballon d’Or winner will be revealed today in a ceremony in London, which is set to get underway shortly. Leading up to the gala, the organisers have started to reveal the final rankings for the players who made the top-30 shortlist. And, Barcelona youngster Pau Cubarsi has managed to secure a 12th-placed finish in the 2026 Ballon d’Or rankings. The teenage defender was a permanent fixture in the Barça team that won the La Liga and the Spanish Super Cup last season. He went on to excel at the 2026 FIFA World Cup during the summer, helping Spain lift the trophy with brilliant defensive displays. Such was his impact that the La Masia graduate was named the FIFA Young Player of the Tournament at the World Cup. As such, there was expectation that the defender could secure a place in the top ten of the Ballon d’Or, but as it turns out, he has finished in the 12th position. Cubarsi also remains a top contender for the Kopa Trophy prize, although reports suggest that his Barcelona and Spain teammate, Lamine Yamal, has won the award for a third consecutive year. Lamine also remains a top contender for the Ballon d’Or, while Barcelona marquee summer signing Rodri is also among the nominees. Meanwhile, Ferran Torres, who left Barcelona for PSG during the summer transfer window, has secured a 16th place finish.
