Harry Kane wins 2026 Ballon d’Or ahead of Lamine Yamal and Kylian Mbappe Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has won the 2026 Ballon d’Or ahead of Lamine Yamal and Kylian Mbappe, capping a remarkable year for the England captain. The 33-year-old also collected the Gerd Muller Trophy for the best striker at the ceremony in London. Kane claimed football’s most coveted individual prize after another prolific campaign. He netted 61 goals and seven assists in 51 appearances for Bayern as they claimed a domestic treble. He scored another six goals for his country before he carried that terrific form into the 2026 World Cup. Kane bagged another six goals as the Three Lions finished third this summer. He scored more than Mbappe and Yamal, the two other favourites for the award this year. Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain were named Men’s Club of the Year, rewarding the French giants for their achievements during the season. Spain goalkeeper Unai Simon won the Yashin Trophy for the best goalkeeper ahead of David Raya, while national team manager Luis de la Fuente was named Coach of the Year. Lamine Yamal also made history by winning the Best Young Talent award for the third consecutive year. However, the Barcelona winger showed humility after receiving the honour, suggesting that the award should have gone to his teammate Pau Cubarsi instead. Meanwhile, Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka received the Socrates Award for his contribution to social causes and fair play. Lionel Messi, Rodri, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Michael Olise, Ousmane Dembele, Erling Haaland and Fabian Ruiz finished in the top 10. Kane is the first Bayern player to win the award since Karl-Heinz Rummenigge (1980 & 1981) and the first English winner since Michael Owen in 2001. Over the past year, Kane has broken the record for the fewest games needed to score 100 Bundesliga goals (98). He equalled the record for the most England caps (125). He also became the first player in Bundesliga history to finish as the top goalscorer in each of his first three seasons. The former Tottenham Hotspur man is the second player, after Cristiano Ronaldo, to score in 10 consecutive Champions League games.
