Danish dynamite in Deventer: Go Ahead Eagles star Søren Tengstedt closing in on a career best season after just 10 games What a start to the season it has been for Go Ahead Eagles Danish star Søren Tengstedt. The 26-year-old winger scored a brace this past weekend as Go-Ahead Eagles beat Telstar 3-2 and grab their third win of the Eredivisie season. The brace for Tengstedt has seen him sit joint top of the Eredivisie scoring list alongside another unlikely player in FC Groningen’s striker Brynjolfur Willumsson. Both Tengstedt and the Icelandic striker Willumsson have scored eight goals this season. Tengstedt is in his third full season in Deventer having joined Go Ahead Eagles from Danish side Silkeborg during the 2023/2024 season. His best season to date came with Silkeborg, when he scored nine goals and provided four assists in 42 games during the 2022/2023 campaign. His time in the Eredivisie has been a slow burner, but he has really burst into life to start the current campaign. Tengstedt only managed five goals and two assists in 46 games for Go Ahead Eagles heading into the current season. 10 games into this campaign and he already has eight goals and two assists. Just two more goals and three more assists will see him register his best ever campaign as a professional footballer. The club from Deventer could really do with Tengstedt maintaining this form after an indifferent start to the campaign. Prior to the victory over Telstar they had gone six games without a win, a run which included a 4-1 hammering by struggling PEC Zwolle. Next up for the side is a cup match with Koninklikje before facing an in form Cambuur on Saturday. GBeNeFN | Ben Jackson
