Barcelona set for €602 fine over fans throwing object during El Clasico It hasn’t been a great for Barcelona, no thanks to back to back defeats at the hands of PSG and Real Madrid. It has been an even more difficult one for fans, who were frustrated with the way the team performed against Real Madrid. Some of them did not shy away from showing their frustation by throwing objects into the field during the course of the Clasico . Barcelona could be fined for thrown objects Objects were reportedly thrown towards Mbappe. The punishment relates to objects being thrown towards Real Madrid players after Kylian Mbappe’s second goal. Referee Juan Martinez Munuera detailed the episode in his match report, noting that in the 87th minute a water bottle and a soda can were thrown from the North Stand, an area mainly occupied by home fans, though neither object struck any player. In response, the referee activated the first phase of the object-throwing protocol, with a warning issued over the stadium’s public address system. The resumption of play was briefly delayed while that message was broadcast, as per the established procedure. The committee classified the matter as a minor infraction under Article 117 of the Disciplinary Code. The fine can reach up to €602, though the final figure depends on the grading applied, with a mid-level penalty amounting to €301. Investigation opened into Camavinga incident La Liga has started investigating the Camavinga incident. An investigation has been opened into an incident in which several fans allegedly struck Eduardo Camavinga on the head with flagpoles, again during the celebrations for Mbappe’s second goal. The episode was reported by La Liga and will be looked at in the corresponding disciplinary proceedings. For Barcelona, it rounds off a chastening week, having surrendered their unbeaten record and seen their lead at the top trimmed.
