Manchester United Locked In Battle With Arsenal And PSG For This Talented Full-Back: Is He Worth The Fight? In a recent report , Fussball News claimed that Manchester United are locked in a three-way battle for Porto full-back Alberto Costa. It has been mentioned that the Red Devils would have to compete with Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain in the race to land the Portuguese defender next year. Costa’s Impressive Form In Portuguese Football Costa has made a solid start to this campaign as he has put in a run of impressive displays for Porto in Liga Portugal. The 23-year-old has made 12 appearances for the Portuguese club this season but has still not scored or created a goal for them on all fronts. The Portuguese talent is currently one of the most talented full-backs in Liga Portugal. Hence, it is no wonder that the Red Devils are eyeing a move to recruit him next year. His current contract at Porto will run out in the summer of 2030, which could make it tough for Man United to sign him on a cut-price deal this January or at the end of this campaign. Costa is a good tackler of the ball and can scan the danger well to earn possession back for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the front foot and is a tidy passer as well from the right flank. However, the Portuguese defender has to find a way to add a few goals and assists to his game. Plus, there are some concerns on whether he can cope with the physicality and high intensity of the Premier League if the Red Devils manage to get a deal done for him next year. We can expect Costa to bring more quality and depth to Man United ‘s defence. He is good enough to challenge for a regular starting spot at Old Trafford. At 23, Costa has his best years ahead of him, which makes him a great option for the Red Devils to pursue in 2027. He would be well worth the fight, so Man United would be wise to step up their efforts to land him soon.
