Hansi Flick considering heavy changes across positions for Alaves clash to prepare for Aston Villa and Atletico Madrid

Hansi Flick considering heavy changes across positions for Alaves clash to prepare for Aston Villa and Atletico Madrid Hansi Flick is preparing to heavily rotate his Barcelona squad against Deportivo Alavés as the Catalans attempt to recover from consecutive defeats to Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.  According to SPORT , the German coach is considering changes across several positions ahead of a demanding run of fixtures that will test the squad’s depth and fitness. Barcelona begin that stretch at the Spotify Camp Nou on Sunday before facing Aston Villa, Atletico de Madrid and Villarreal.  With the pressure increasing after their recent setbacks, Flick must balance the need for an immediate response with the importance of keeping his key players fresh. Barcelona defensive changes depend on Kounde’s recovery Jules Kounde remains a doubt after continuing his individual recovery, while Eric Garcia is also working towards a return and Xavi Espart faces a longer spell out.  Flick therefore has decisions to make over how he distributes minutes among his available defenders, with Brian Farinas expected to get some minutes . Gavi and Frenkie de Jong could get Barcelona opportunities The midfield could see more substantial changes.  Pedri and Rodri have shown signs of fatigue, particularly during the Clásico, potentially creating openings for Marc Bernal and Frenkie de Jong. Gavi is another candidate to start after remaining on the bench throughout the match against Real Madrid.  Frenkie de Jong might return to the starting XI. Barcelona attack could change before Aston Villa and Atletico tests There could also be adjustments in the forward line, with Anthony Gordon a likely candidate to replace Karim Adeyemi after the latter’s demanding recent appearances against PSG and Real Madrid.  Gabriel Jesus could also be considered as the central striker, giving Flick another option to manage his attacking resources. Alaves should not be underestimated, but Barcelona’s schedule makes the timing of these decisions important.  Aston Villa present a major European test, while the trip to Atletico will demand another high-level performance in La Liga.
