Barcelona tracking 21-year-old Galatasaray midfielder after impressive Champions League displays

Barcelona tracking 21-year-old Galatasaray midfielder after impressive Champions League displays Barcelona are tracking Galatasaray attacking midfielder Aleksey Batrakov after his impressive start in Turkey attracted attention from several major European clubs.  According to SPORT , citing Turkish newspaper Milliyet, the Catalan side are among those monitoring the 21-year-old Russian, although no formal offer has been reported. Batrakov has quickly established himself as a player to watch since arriving from Lokomotiv Moscow last summer.  His performances, including a goal against Barcelona in the Champions League, have strengthened his reputation and placed him on the radar of clubs considering future attacking reinforcements. Barcelona scouting Batrakov after impressive UCL displays Batrakov joined Galatasaray in a €25 million transfer and signed a contract running until 2031.  His early returns have been encouraging, with two goals and two assists across his first nine official appearances, according to the report. Barcelona have already seen what he can offer at close quarters, as the Russian scored against Hansi Flick’s team during their European meeting in Istanbul before finding the net against Lille. Galatasaray demand could complicate Barcelona transfer plans The financial side of any potential move presents a significant obstacle.  Galatasaray reportedly have a €55 million release clause in Batrakov’s contract, a figure that would make the operation a substantial investment for Barcelona. The Turkish club are understood to believe that continued strong performances could attract a major European bidder willing to meet that valuation.  With Batrakov contracted until 2031, Galatasaray are also in a strong position to resist offers that fall short of their expectations. Several other European heavyweights are also interested in Aleksei Batrakov. PSG, Chelsea and Manchester United add to transfer competition Notably, Barcelona would not be alone in following Batrakov’s progress, as Paris Saint-Germain are paying close attention to the Russian, while Chelsea and Manchester United have also been linked with him. Understandably, competition from clubs with considerable spending power could make a future deal difficult, especially if Galatasaray maintain their valuation.  Furthermore, Batrakov would also need to be assessed in the context of Barcelona’s existing attacking options and the opportunities available to him. For now, the midfielder’s performances have generated interest, and if he maintains his current trajectory, Barcelona may have to decide whether to pursue him before the competition for his signature intensifies.
