Fabrizio Romano confirms developing situation at Chelsea, could hand Liverpool a world-class star

Fabrizio Romano confirms developing situation at Chelsea, could hand Liverpool a world-class star Liverpool appear to have a chance to sign a fantastic player from Chelsea. A situation is developing there that could get messy. Liverpool beat Chelsea on penalties at Anfield on Wednesday evening and that's actually a lot more impressive than it sounds. Andoni Iraola rotated fairly heavily for this one, after all. Alisson Becker remained on the bench throughout, while Milos Kerkez didn't take to the pitch at all. Dominik Szoboszlai missed it through injury, of course, as did Victor Munoz. Iraola also decided to start without Alexander Isak, Jeremy Jacquet, Florian Wirtz, Alexis Mac Allister and Bradley Barcola. All eventually came on, of course, but the majority of this match was played without clear first-XI players. And the Reds still won. Chelsea, on the other hand, went very strong - or as strong as they could considering injuries and suspensions. That decision may have another negative effect on them, too. One Liverpool can take advantage of. Estevao is a wanted man Chelsea signed Estevao to a lot of fanfare in 2025 but the Brazilian hasn't exactly been granted the opportunities you'd think. He arrived as arguably the most exciting talent in Brazil, after all, and has 14 caps at just 19. But Estevao played under 900 Premier League minutes last season. He's not featuring much this time around, either, and Wednesday was a particularly notable one: he remained on the bench as an unused sub in the EFL Cup. That signals a lack of faith in him and now Fabrizio Romano has confirmed it's a developing situation at Chelsea. They want to keep the player happy but know they've got to hand him minutes to do that. As things stand, he's not getting the games he needs in order to develop and that will naturally see Estevao's value plummet. They could end up with a player who wasn't afforded what he needs to establish his potential but also without much value if they hold onto him too long. This is crunch time, then. Chelsea know that the longer they go without playing Estevao regularly, the more urgency there is to sell him and that's a situation Liverpool can take advantage of. The Reds need a right-winger and there is, make no mistake, no bigger talent on that flank than Estevao who isn't named Lamine Yamal. We're talking about a truly sensational talent.
