Joshua Kimmich likely to return for Bayern Munich; Manuel Neuer misses out

Joshua Kimmich likely to return for Bayern Munich; Manuel Neuer misses out Joshua Kimmich has returned to Bayern Munich training after missing games against Arsenal, Freiburg and Magdeburg due to a bereavement in his family, and he could return for the Klassiker against Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga’s Topspiel on Saturday. Aaron Danks, deputising for head coach Vincent Kompany, said that Kimmich has “only trained individually” so far, but that he will participate in the team’s final training session on Friday. As reported via Kicker, sporting director Max Eberl has also maintained constant contact with Kimmich throughout his bereavement. “Life is different for him now and we don’t need to hide that,” he said. “We will give him all our support. When Jo feels ready to immerse himself in his new daily routine, the coaching staff will discuss with him whether tomorrow is the right time for him.” However, while Kimmich could return, Germany’s record champions will still be without Manuel Neuer. Bayern’s custodian has been out since the 1-1 draw at Arsenal due to a foot problem, meaning Jonas Urbig will again deputise for the veteran stopper. “We will monitor him day by day until next week,” explained Danks.
