"It's a Dream" - Manchester City Winger Allan Elias Reacts to First Senior Brazil Call-Up
"It's a Dream" - Manchester City Winger Allan Elias Reacts to First Senior Brazil Call-Up Allan Elias is set to done the senior Brazil jersey later in November. Allan, 22, joined Manchester City from Palmeiras on 31 August in a deal worth up to £34 million, signing a five-year contract after making 96 appearances for the Brazilian club across the 2025 and 2026 campaigns. The forward has played 10 minutes of Premier League football for the Blues so far, coming off the bench in the 3-0 win at Liverpool , whilst also scoring and assisting in a 5-0 Carabao Cup win over Norwich City in September. Brazil manager Carlo Ancelotti named Allan as one of five uncapped players in his 26-man squad on Thursday, with the Selecao facing Japan on 14 November and Singapore three days later at the National Stadium in Singapore. Speaking to GE Globo and relayed by Goal , Allan reflected on his first call-up to the senior Brazil squad. "I'm very happy with the moment I'm experiencing," the winger said. "I believe it's a dream for every kid who grows up watching and being in the football world. It's a dream to be in the Brazil national team, I believe one day this was very distant for me and today I can feel this sensation of being called up, being able to wear the Brazil national team shirt, being able to honour our country, it's very rewarding for me." The 22-year-old was then asked about his aims for the upcoming international window. "I hope to get there and be able to deliver my best and, God willing, stay there," he added. Allan started Manchester City's Carabao Cup fourth-round tie with Brighton and Hove Albion on Wednesday night and played 61 minutes, with Enzo Maresca having made changes to his side for the first of two meetings with the Seagulls in four days. The holders drew 2-2 with Brighton before winning 4-3 on penalties, with Geronimo Rulli saving two spot-kicks in the shootout after five first-team regulars had been given three days off following the defeat at Aston Villa last Saturday. Allan also played the full 90 minutes of the 5-1 Champions League win over AEK Athens earlier this month, a game in which Phil Foden scored a hat-trick and the Brazilian struck the crossbar from a tight angle on the left side of the penalty area. Maresca said after that win that he was trying to help Allan adapt to life in England following his move from Palmeiras , and that the forward would receive more minutes gradually as he settles into a squad full of established international players. Antoine Semenyo has been ruled out for around eight weeks with an injury suffered against Ipswich Town, which has left Maresca with one fewer option in the wide areas during a busy run of fixtures before the winter period. Allan arrived at the Etihad Stadium in the same window that fellow Brazilian Savinho left Manchester City for Tottenham in a deal worth £85 million, with the forward among several summer signings recruited by director of football Hugo Viana under Maresca. Allan is joined in the Brazil squad by Manchester City defender Vitor Reis, who has one senior cap, whilst Chelsea forward Estevao Willian and Real Madrid duo Vinicius Junior and Endrick are among the attacking options also selected by Ancelotti. Ancelotti did not call up any players from Palmeiras or Flamengo, who are competing for the Brazilian Serie A title, and his squad for the final two games of the year includes 15 players under the age of 23. Manchester City host Brighton and Hove Albion at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday 31 October, before a trip to face Nottingham Forest on 7 November ahead of the international break, when Allan could make his Brazil debut against Japan.
