Chelsea’s Maxence Lacroix set for weeks on the sidelines after sustaining hamstring tear
Chelsea’s Maxence Lacroix set for weeks on the sidelines after sustaining hamstring tear Chelsea centre-back Maxence Lacroix (26) is set for weeks on the sidelines after tearing his left hamstring during the Blues’ loss to penalties against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup last-16 round, RMC Sport can reveal. The former Crystal Palace centre-back is therefore ruled out for France’s upcoming international camp in November. Zinédine Zidane’s Les Bleus are due to play Italy away and Türkiye at home to qualify for the UEFA Nations League’s quarter-finals. The absences of both Lacroix and Arsenal’s William Saliba should provide a way back into the France’s squad for Ibrahima Konaté. The Real Madrid defender missed out on the previous international camp. He was replaced by Manchester United’s Leny Yoro. RMC Sport adds that Lacroix could even miss the festive fixtures with Xabi Alonso’s Chelsea as his return before the end of the year remains uncertain. GFFN | Bastien Cheval
